Celebrating Teachers’ Day

Celebrating Teachers’ Day

Teachers are the precious gifts that children have. Once you grow up, you long for a teacher, but there is no one to teach you anything.

Children admire their teachers, and therefore celebrating Teachers’ Day gives them sheer happiness and joy.

As parents, it is our responsibility to encourage children to make their teachers feel special on this special day. We must help our children in whatever they plan for their teachers on this day.

Celebrating Teachers’ Day with enthusiasm shows how much we love them, and also honor them for being there for us all the time. It is appreciating the efforts and hard work the teachers put in, to make the future of our children better.

Teachers teach everything, from inculcating good habits, to teaching good manners, to giving students the subject knowledge, to boosting their confidence, to preparing them for the challenging life ahead and what not.

In India, every year we celebrate Teachers’ Day on September 05 to honor our teachers, our gurus. This date also marks the birth date of the second President of India Shri. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

On this day the studies are replaced with full day activities, celebrations, thanks giving and remembrance.

This year is very special with regard to teachers. Due to Corona (i.e. Covid 19), there has been no school opened till date and probability of opening of schools is still bleak. But the teachers have left no stone unturned to make sure that children don’t suffer and their entire year isn’t wasted.

Teachers are taking online classes, supervising all the students via one single screen, dealing with internet issues, making them learn new concepts without physical presence and much more.

Earlier celebrating this day was a little easy. Children used to give flowers, hand-made cards, gifts, personalized mugs, jewellery, gift hampers, photo frames, cakes, cosmetics etc. to their teachers to thank them and make them feel special. Children also used to write and learn poems, rhymes and recite them in their classes to make their teachers happy. Some children also prepared skit/ play and enjoy with their fellows and teachers.
