What’s there to rush?

What's there to rush?

There lived a mother Achira, with a very cute little 7-year-old daughter in a busy town. The name of her daughter was Olivia. She was a well-mannered and a responsible child.

Achira was a working mother and always had a lot in her mind. She would always be in a hurry to do things, whether at home or in her office.

In her mind s well as actions, Achira was always in a rush, while driving, or having food, or working in office. Likewise, she always told her daughter Olivia to do things quickly, whether it is doing her homework, or getting ready for school, or going for activities, or even eating.

Olivia always observed this habit if her mother, but never said anything. She was too used to her mother hurrying up all the time, creating a sort of panic, without a reason.

But there was so much that she wanted to say to her mom about this habit of hers. So, Olivia started writing. She wrote few instances, like on the dining table, Achira always asks Olivia to finish food fast, even on a normal day, she asks Olivia to complete her work speedily, let alone exam time.

She further wrote about how once they were driving to her school, and even though there was no reason to be in a hurry, her mother kept honking on the way.

Also, when they went on a trip and instead of enjoying the nature and the place, her mother kept worrying about how late they got, etc. etc.

She decorated this little book beautifully and presented it to her mother on Mother’s Day.

At first, when Achira read that book, she was a little annoyed, but then as she read further, tears started rolling her eyes.

In the book, Olivia had requested her mom to calm down, and relax in life.

She had written, “To hurry up all the time, is not good for your health mom. I love you a lot and I want you to be at peace. If we rush all the time, it becomes our habit. What’s there to rush all the time Maa?”

Achira understood what her daughter was trying to say. She hugged Olivia and said, “My little girl has grown up. I am so proud of you. Thank you for the advice, the best and the most precious gift ever.”
